Argumentative Essay Topics on Indigenous Tribes and Religion

Argumentative Essay Topics on Indigenous Tribes and ReligionSome arguments about indigenous tribes and religion are generally thoughtful. However, some argue on the basis of stereotypes and prejudice. Because of this, when one prepares to write an argumentative essay about native beliefs and rituals, one needs to prepare for any possible attacks. For example, one may want to discuss these topics with local experts and community members in their own communities, in discussion forums, or through scholarly articles. In addition, some ethnic studies scholars may be able to provide scholarly guidance. On the other hand, if one feels uncomfortable discussing these issues with anyone, one can present these topics in writing in any manner one desires. One may wonder why the need to write about these arguments at all? After all, there are already two other highly effective ways to present such topics. Answering the question more fully, though, is to note that debates about native beliefs and sp irituality usually degenerate into a religious war. When these subjects are brought up, in other words, the focus of the discussion typically shifts from the value of the arguments themselves to who is right or wrong. Thus, one has to remain informed about the state of the discussion to avoid being perceived as a mere participant in the conflict.Native American cultures are organized around many sacred values, including respect for life, special care for the environment, and their social order and well-being. Many of these values are based on religious belief. Most Native Americans also practice several practices of native spirituality. This includes such things as the reenactment of ceremonies' meaning, daily rituals, ceremonial fire rituals, natural dances, the use of food items, and symbolic gestures. The debate has led to much controversy and even led to the creation of denominations within Native American religions. Despite the differences among Native American denominations, ho wever, these groups still share a deep sense of family and connection. Because of these shared characteristics, it is easy to see how these unique beliefs would influence religious practice. Because of this, the argument that leads to religious warfare is really only a symptom of the deeper problem. When discussing native religions, tribal leaders often express concern that 'out-of-context' quotations by non-Native critics may suggest a rejection of native traditions. In actuality, most non-Native observers seem to be more interested in condemning than defending. Therefore, the best way to answer the question 'What are the arguments against native religion?' is to simply describe the common beliefs and practices, rather than to address the arguments themselves.Native rituals, ceremonies, and beliefs are not inherently absurd or evil. They are rather ancient and complex. In addition, since many of these beliefs and practices are based on natural laws, their origins may never be discov ered. Nevertheless, these beliefs and practices are better understood if we look to cultures that have followed their teachings for generations. Using the references in the book of Genesis as examples, it is clear that God willed that human beings live together in a community and that they should engage in and create religious rituals and practices. This does not mean that those who argue against native cultures do not actually value these cultures. The point is simply that in the argumentative essay setting, it is important to remain respectful of both the traditions and the critics.
